According to Australian bureau of statistics “National Study of Mental Health and Wellbeing 2020-2022” 42.9% of people aged 16–85 years had experienced a mental disorder at some time in their life.
Unfortunately, there is a stigma about mental health. A lot of people feel stressed, depressed or anxious at some time. Many more people believe that if someone is not able to “snap out of it”, then there is something wrong with this person. They say just get over it.
We go to see a doctor if we have caught a cold or a dentist when struggling with a tooth pain. Why don’t we see a therapist if we need their help?
Seeking help isn’t a sign of weakness — it’s a sign of strength!
We are not able to manage anxiety by just staying calm. We cannot recover from depression and burnout by just being positive.
A therapist is a professional who is able to assist you in identifying your strengths and helps you to focus on how to improve your life for the better.
