There are a lot of discussions about a feeling of wellbeing and its importance for a person’s health and prosperity.

What is wellbeing? Why is it very important to take care of your personal wellbeing?

The World Health Organisation describes ‘wellbeing’ as a “resource for healthy living” and “positive state of health”.

If people feel well, they can use their abilities to achieve their goals, work productively, fruitfully and cope with the normal stresses in their life. They are also able to cope with difficulties that they faced with during their lifespan.

The things we do and the way we think can have a big impact on our experience. E.g. optimism and positive emotions can reduce the risk of a heart attack by up to 50%.

Emotional wellbeing extends your life – potentially adding 7½ years to your lifespan.
